At nearly 6 lbs., the thought of a major flywheel explosion is downright horrifying! This places not only the driver in serious danger, but also the other racers and spectators. Even a slight impact can send cooling fins flying at over 200 MPH, making the stock blower shroud look like it was hit by a shotgun blast! With the high RPM of todays engines, over rev has become more common place. Breaking a drive component or loss of traction can turn the flywheel to RPM well past the intended integrity, causing it to quickly turn into a dangerous situation if it should fail.
